Growing in Grace Together

Holy Cross is a Missouri Synod Lutheran Christian church located in Los Gatos, California.  We are called to connect people to His Son, Jesus Christ, and to show God's love by caring for each other, our guests and visitors, and our community.  We strive to genuinely welcome, consistently include, and intentionally support you in your faith walk.

Our members are growing to be passionate followers of Jesus Christ with a deep, contagious faith.  We work to equip, encourage, and challenge each other to be His servants to the world.

Come as Visitors, Leave as Friends

We welcome you to join us at any time for worship, Bible study, and any activities that interest you.  If you would like to become a member of Holy Cross, please contact the church office at 408-356-3525.

Update from Pastor Koschmann

Dear Friends in Christ,

I invite you to set time aside to gather your family in worship for the Fifth Sunday in Lent.  On the Holy Cross Website and Facebook, you can view the sermon, Guard Your Heart and Mind, based on Philippians 4:7, And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

I suggest that you sing, listen, or reflect on the Hymn Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee and the Song, In Christ Alone.

The Scripture Readings are Joshua 1:1-9, Philippians 4:1, 4-9, John 11:1-44.

A Children’s Message is also available this week as a separate link on the Website.

March 25th Lenten Sermon Now Available

This week we continue to dwell in the shelter of the Most High even as we still Shelter-in-Place. Our Baptismal bond remains strong as we are reminded that we are God’s family, the church.

The next Lenten sermon, Murderous Eyes, is now on our Website, www.holycrosslosgatos.com/sermons, and Facebook, www.facebook.com/holycrosslosgatos on Wednesday, March 25. The chief priests and scribes of Jesus’ time really had murderous, angry eyes when they looked at Jesus. They wanted Jesus to die. Yet, the main thing in Jesus’ eyes was love. Even during His trial, suffering, and death, Jesus looked the whole world with eyes of love.

He still looks at us that way. Even when we get really mad at one another or even at God, Jesus sees us with eyes of love, ready to forgive our sins and fill our eyes and our hearts instead with His love. By giving us His love and faith in Him as our Savior, He helps us to look at other people with eyes of love too. He helps us see what He sees: sinners in need of His love, and friends in need of forgiveness. Thank God that He sees us that way!

A change to connecting to the Holden Evening Prayer service has been made. When you click on the sermon, it will show a graphic of Holden Evening Prayer along with instructions to click on the image to hear it.

May the loving eyes of Jesus watch over you as helps us to see others with eyes of love and reach out to them.

In Christ’s service,

Update from Pastor Koschmann

Dear Friends in Christ,

This is a unique time as the Lord allows for us to learn how to be His church, socially distant but intentionally connecting to one another and our neighbors as we live out the love of Christ which He has so richly poured into us in His word.  Read more...

In-Person Worship in March

As a reminder, we will no longer hold in-person worship in March. This includes not only Sunday worship but also the Lenten suppers and Wednesday night Lenten worship. We pray that the situation improves dramatically so that we are able to continue in early April, but that is uncertain. During this time we will be posting the message every Sunday morning, so make it your new practice to set aside the “normal” worship time to listen on-line. No decision has been made yet on additional materials for Lent but stay tuned to your email as this is the most efficient way for us to reach all of you with a common message.

Kidz Night Out

Please Note: Our Kidz Night Out originally scheduled for March 21 has been rescheduled to April 25.
